Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided Trade Show Displays

Choose the printed sides by where people will see the display. Single-sided graphics make sense when the front carries the message and the rear is out of view. Double-sided graphics are useful when both faces are visible to your audience. The right choice starts with your layout, not the product photograph.

What is the difference between single-sided and double-sided printing?

Single-sided means the selected graphic package has one printed face. Double-sided means it provides printed messaging on both faces. That does not always mean one piece of fabric: some systems use a fabric cover, while others use separate front and rear panels. Check the exact package and artwork templates.

Choose the print configuration for the viewing situation
Where the display goes Useful starting point Check before ordering
Rear of a booth, with the back out of view Single-sided The finish on the reverse and whether any side surfaces remain visible.
Freestanding, with visitors approaching both faces Double-sided Both sightlines, the assembled footprint and the frame's permitted placement.
A lightbox with visible front and rear faces A suitable double-sided lightbox option The included front, rear and side graphics, lighting arrangement and power requirements.
A frame you already own The configuration supported by that exact frame Model identity, panel count and compatible replacement graphics.

Is the back of a single-sided display always white?

No. The reverse may use an unprinted fabric or a blockout panel, and the finish varies by system and selected option. Do not assume that “single-sided” describes the back's color, light-blocking behavior or appearance. Read the selected package details.

Does double-sided printing change the package price?

It can. Compare prices after selecting the printed sides, and keep the frame model and included accessories the same. A cheaper single-sided price is not the price of the double-sided option.

The WaveLine 20 ft Straight currently offers single-sided and double-sided complete packages. Both list the straight frame and nylon bag, while the printed graphic follows the selected option. Open the listing to compare the current option prices.

Does a single-sided lightbox have no side graphics?

Not necessarily. Printed sides can also refer to the main front and rear viewing faces. For example, the Casonara 20 ft SEG Lightbox lists front and side fabric prints; its selected option determines whether the back is printed or uses blockout fabric. Use the Included list and templates to understand the coverage.

Can I make an existing single-sided display double-sided later?

Check the exact frame before buying new graphics. A similar size or shared product-line name does not prove that the hardware accepts a different configuration. Match the frame model, supported graphic construction, panel count and printed sides using the relevant replacement listing and templates.

Our replacement graphics fit guide explains how to start from the hardware you own.

Can the two faces carry different messages?

Plan the content for each viewing direction, then check the exact artwork template and print instructions for the selected package. A wraparound cover and a set of separate panels need different artwork layouts. Do not assume that one front-facing design file automatically prepares every printed surface.

How do I compare only double-sided trade show displays?

Select double-sided printing in the finder before comparing the budget or required features. This keeps the print configuration part of your request. Then check the actual package contents and how its reverse will be seen in your layout.

Find double-sided complete displays, compare double-sided 10 ft displays, or compare double-sided 20 ft displays.

If the front is your only visible face, start with single-sided displays. You can change the answer as your booth plan changes.
